The main window with the information about the disk. The overall general state of its health is shown together with the percentage of the remaining life and performance rate. If you have several hard drives, you can switch among them using the tabs at the top of the window.

This sample screenshot shows the situation when the state of health is not good and the life of the disk is in danger. In this case, we recommend that you keep HDDlife^® constantly running in the background mode and monitoring the state of the disk automatically at least once every half an hour. And you must not forget to back up your data regularly.

In this screenshot you can see an example of how HDDlife^® works if it detects that the life and the health of a disk is at the critical level. It is recommended that you back up all your data immediately and to replace your hard drive as soon as possible.

Currently, USB hard drives are getting more and more popular. Speed, availability, ease of use, large amounts of information – all that takes you to a new level of mobile freedom and functionality. One of the new features in HDDlife^® version 3.0 allows you to control the performance of external drives, now the program supports USB. With the suggestions of professional users taken into account, HDDlife^® 3.0 now has a new feature – detailed SMART information, which allows you to view detailed information about attributes. SMART monitors the main characteristics of the drive showing them in the form of numbers.

USB Hard Drives support in HDDlife^®

USB hard drives have recently become one of the most popular devices for carrying large amounts of data, making backups and performing a lot of other tasks. More and more users contact us with a request to add the support of health and state control for USB hard drives.
We are glad to inform you that we have started working on it and have already made quite a good progress.

But unfortunately, due to our geographical location, we are not able to cover the entire variety of USB enclosures on the market in order to test them and implement their support. So we make a proposal to users that may be beneficial for all parties.

You can get a family license for HDDlife^® Pro (for 5 computers, the price is $99) or a license for HDDlife^® for Notebooks ($50) in exchange for an empty external enclosure for USB drives!

How to get the license?

Carefully look through the list of enclosures we already have (below) in order to avoid sending us one we already have by accident.

Make a photo of your enclosure and send the photo specifying the exact model to support@hddlife.com and specify the subject of the message as «USB enclosure – the name/model of your enclosure.»

ATTENTION! Wait until you receive a reply from us with the confirmation that we have no such enclosure so far or that it has not been sent already.
